Reds Non-tender Ortiz, Valentine

在提供仲裁的底限到期之前，Reds決定不向Ramon Ortiz與Joe Valentine提出合約。因此現在這兩位球員都已成為自由球員。

不過我比較注意的是底下這一個段落：

The Reds tendered offers to seven players still eligible for arbitration, including outfielder/first baseman Adam Dunn, pitcher Aaron Harang, outfielders Austin Kearns and Wily Mo Pena, catchers Jason LaRue and Javier Valentin and shortstop Felipe Lopez. Utility player Ryan Freel avoided the arbitration process Monday by signing a two-year, $3 million contract with Cincinnati.

Reds還是沒有與Adam Dunn簽下長約，至今仍然看不出Dan O'Brien的建隊方向，他是打算打造一支以長程火砲為主的球隊還是投手為主的球隊？franchise player無法確定的話，很難有明確的目標，戰績自然就不容易提升。
